A Carry-on Luggage Guide for Full Service Airlines [2021 Update]

One of the most common questions that we've received from customers is about how passengers can select the right size carry-on to meet different airline restrictions. Understanding your concern, the purpose of writing this article is to help shed light on the different carry-on size restrictions of popular airlines.

 

As mentioned in our previous article, if you want to carry your luggage on the airplane, it's important that the sum of the height, width, and depth of the luggage is less than 115cm.

Here we've compiled the size restrictions of some popular airlines where passengers don't have to pay extra. Before you dive in, we suggest you to spend 10 seconds to look at the definition to have a clearer perspective while reading.

Maximum Size：It means that the sum of the height, width and depth of a luggage cannot exceed the length (including the handle and wheels!).

Maximum Dimension：Some airlines regulate that each the height, width and depth respectively of a carry-on cannot exceed a certain length. If a carry-on is not within the defined size, then the luggage will not fit in the overhead bin.

Additional Item：Personal Item: A personal item is like a backpack, laptop bag, purse, briefcase, shopping bag, etc. It is mostly smaller in dimension than a carry-on.
